Avery Hill’s Songwriting Workshop

Songwriting: Basics & Beyond. This mixed-level workshop is for everyone from the songwriting-curious to the long-practiced songwriter. We'll start with the basic elements of every song -- lyrics, music, rhythm, and arrangement -- and look at different ways our favorite songwriters have used them. We'll take from these models some inspiration and start playing with our own ideas. If possible, participants are encouraged to bring 3-4 copies of a song chart (chords and lyrics) of their favorite song for small group work.
